Today was all about marketing my fonts and diving deeper into Pinterest. I’ve been hearing a lot about how Pinterest can be a game-changer for driving traffic, so I decided to give it a serious shot. Turns out, there’s a bit of a learning curve, especially when it comes to image optimization.
Apparently, Pinterest loves images with a 2:3 aspect ratio—tall and scroll-friendly. Since my original font previews didn’t match that ratio, I had to get creative. I ended up combining three separate preview images into one long, vertical design. It wasn’t too hard, but aligning everything perfectly took some time. Here’s the math:
- Three font previews stacked together, carefully arranged, and resized to hit that golden 2:3 ratio.
Once I got the hang of it, the process went smoother. I created custom Pinterest-friendly previews for almost all of my 55 fonts on Letterhanna. It was a bit of a grind, but seeing those polished, scroll-stopping images was super satisfying.
After finalizing the images, I uploaded the pins and wrote captions that (hopefully) hit the sweet spot between catchy and informative. Something like:
“Free for personal use! Check out this modern script font for your next creative project. Visit letterhanna.com!”
Now, it’s a waiting game. Will Pinterest deliver the traffic boost I’m hoping for? Fingers crossed!
One thing’s for sure: creating those optimized pins felt worth it. Pinterest isn’t just about pretty images—it’s a search engine for ideas. If even a fraction of users click through and discover my fonts, that’s already a win.
So, here’s to testing new strategies and giving Pinterest a real shot. If you’re reading this and also thinking about jumping into the Pinterest game, my advice is: invest time in designing vertical, eye-catching pins. Who knows, maybe Pinterest will become our secret weapon for growing traffic and sales! 😊
